                                   DERRICK WILLIAMS

TDMB:  Where are U originally from?
Derrick:  Houston, Tx.

TDMB:  Do U have any children and are they athletic?
Derrick:  Yes I do!  Of course they are athletic!  Its in their blood!

TDMB:   Any Nicknames?
Derrick:  The most common name I get called is Tyrese. Other names are like D10, Franchize, or Black Jesus (LOL)

TDMB:  How did U get started in Softball?
Derrick:  It started as a family thing at first, we would meet up at Linkwood park and pick teams. After a while we decided we  wanted to play more often, then we found out about Emancipation Park (EP). We formed a team and went from there..

TDMB:  What teams have U played for?
Derrick:  I started out with the Southside Sluggers, then 2fast 2furious, The Hard Hittas, The Jaguars, HDS, The Dogs,  Done Right (DRS) and now The Rocstars!

TDMB:  Ok this year U are playing with the Rocstars, do U think that the Rocstars have a chance to win a championship?
Derrick:  I think that as long as we stay loyal and play together as a team, the sky is the limit.


TDMB:  Do U have any other hobbies?
Derrick:  Of course! I enjoy fishing, basketball, football, bowling, shooting pool, going to the gun range, going to the gun range and last but not least ...going to the gun range!!!!


TDMB:  What do U like about playing on the black circuit?
Derrick:  I enjoy the family atmosphere the most.., the competition and the trash talking! LOL

TDMB:  What do U not like about playing on the Black circuit?
Derrick:  See! You about to start something! LOL!! The things I don't like just does not apply to the black circuit, Softball period! You got too many grown people worried about the wrong things if you know what I mean. You come to have fun, play ball and compete every weekend! Softball is not suppose to be a place filled with drama but sometimes it gets that  way. The only thing different that I see is when you play away from the circuit  it isn't that bad because people don't know you.  Some people just need to mind their own! Ya feel me?

TDMB:  What is your favorite tournament to play in? It better be mine (LOL)
Derrick:  LOL! Well you know I enjoy your tournament, but I cant just narrow it down to one. There are tournaments that i have not played in yet. Besides the World tournaments I look forward to the Gamblers, Budweiser, Dallas, Man i cant name all those tournaments! I don't even know the name of some of them i just like them!

TDMB:  Now lets get to serious stuff How do U feel being voted by the Ladies of the TDMB Sexist Man?
Derrick:  HAHA! That one hit me by surprise! I honestly didnt expect that, even when they did the recount. I mean, It would be a lie if I told you anything different. I appreciate the votes ladies! 

TDMB:  For all the ladies on the  circuit, they want to know your status???
Derrick:  (LOL) Straight!!!!                                                                            

TDMB:  Tell us something about U that no one on the SBSA circuit knows about U
Derrick:  Hmmmmm....I would be all day on that one.  Let me see... I have a degree in Computer Systems Technology.  I was Quarterback in High School and I played Semi-Pro Football.  Oh! I played lil league baseball with Jr. (Kells) and he started a gang fight at the little league game! (LOL)
 

TDMB:  Is there anyone on the Circuit or in your life that U idolize?
Derrick:  My Mom is who I look up to. I admire any female that's willing to make the sacrifices that's necessary to raise their children!
