TDMB:    Mr. House what's going on?
HOUSE: Man, I’m glad that our season has begun. Ready to hit da ball and da highway/by-way

TDMB:    U looking good, how much did U work out in the off season?
HOUSE: A lot, some have spotted my name on the Clemens report…. Others have volunteered me to local precincts

TDMB:    U are from Houston, what High School did U attend?
HOUSE: The Mighty “Ross Shaw Sterling “ Raiders of course

TDMB:    I here that U were a better football player then baseball so why did U choose to play baseball?
HOUSE: The scout talked a good game and put them Big commas in my face. Wouldn’t trade it for the world (best  experience a kid/man can ask for)

TDMB:    U were drafted out of High School?
HOUSE: Yeah out of high school, thought I would get big bucks, but ended up with a whammy. It got a lil better later

TDMB:    Do U remember the first time I saw U and I told U something, What was it?
HOUSE: Man that guy can play on a major team. Come play with me one weekend and you can go make some money. Dang I should have gone when the big money was being handed out, not complaining now, but it was bigger then…..

TDMB:    Your mother was a pretty good softball player do U remember who she played for?
HOUSE: Future Shock, Michelob Light Jewels, Young and the Restless, Missouri City Babes, and maybe others. They use to battle War every weekend, I was there when Gail cleared the fence at Memorial Park (women’s field)

TDMB:    Did she bring U to the park?
HOUSE: A lil running nose kid running the park every league night and tournaments (Law Park, Edgewood, Memorial Park, and Beaumont before the fences)

TDMB:     Do U have any sisters or brothers?

HOUSE:  One sister, I’m big brother

TDMB:     Are U married
HOUSE:  Are U

 

TDMB:     This Profile is about U not me (LOL) How many Kids do U have?
HOUSE:  2 girls

TDMB:     U came on the circuit with the Cardinals, who are the other teams that U have played with?
HOUSE:  One Time (D team, very first team), Cardinals, Medic-Aide, Houston Capital, U.S. Vinyl, KME Body Glove, GodFather, Pace, and of yeah Top Dog

TDMB:     U are one of the very few blacks to get to play on the Major softball circuit,  How was that experience?
HOUSE:  The experience is great, however at times you feel like you’re at the airport everyday. The caliber of playing is slightly different (balls/bats), everyone is a starter and even the great players sit the bench. With Vinyl I sat the bench Damn near the whole season until world time.

TDMB:    A lot of us on the Black Circuit don't understand the politics that go on the Major Circuit was it hard for U to deal with it?
HOUSE:  It’s real hard to deal with, because you tell you’re self I can out play this guy/that guy, but he’s a friend of the sponsor and he start. It is a buddy buddy system that is unbelievable. However, if you humble yourself and wait your turn you can be All World in the end (USSSA, WSL, ASA)

TDMB:     U have played all over the country what are some of the best parks that U have played on?
HOUSE:  Disney is by far one of the best, no disrespect but all fields you play on are well groomed, not a pot hole to find on the infields

TDMB:     What is the best tournament that U have played in?
HOUSE:  USSSA World, you’re on the highest stage of softball, all World tournaments are good

TDMB:     What is the worst tournament?
HOUSE:  The one’s that try to make a dollar out of fifteen cents

TDMB:     Who are U playing with this year?
HOUSE:  Pace and locally with the Cardinals

TDMB:     U have played on the Major Circuit, the East Coast Black Circuit (BSC) and the SBSA what are the different in each one?
HOUSE:  Major Circuit – you know your gametimes a week in advance and know how to prepare yourself (family, job, and mentally)

BSC – It’s gonna be a party y'all, and you get a whole lot of teams rooting against you because you’re not Primetime (still need more upper teams)

SBSA- It’s growing slowly but surely, you guys are starting to get some of the teams from other areas.  ( Need more big teams)

TDMB:     What are some of the changes that U would like to see in the SBSA?
HOUSE:  Not just SBSA, but in softball as a whole, these dang T-shirts are now being used as car –wash utensils. Prizes bring about greater competition. And yes, more money for you guys the Directors. One bracket, allow the men to be men and take a butt spanking to get their teams better over time…..

Bring back Homerun competition for the crowd and players.

TDMB:     What do U like about the SBSA?
HOUSE:  Not knowing the gametimes in a timely manner, lack of recruiting

TDMB:     Tell us something that most people on the Circuit do not know about Andre' Newhouse?
HOUSE:  God is the head of my life (although I slip up sometimes), don’t act like I’m the only one, I was a two time All American in high school, I love to win at whatever I do, I love to play this game for the game, I love life and family, I love to joke and laugh, man I can go on and on how much you need to know?  

TDMB:     Anything that U would like to add or comment on?
HOUSE:  Let’s have a ton of fun this year cheer each other on, and remember it’s a game we’re gifted/allowed to play in. Look out for the Dirty Birds we gonna have some eyes on us this year.
