TDMB: How is it going Shirley?
SHIRLEY:  Hi Frank ,I am doing great.

TDMB: Everyone knows that U are married to Skillet, How long have U two been married and how many Kids do U have.
SHIRLEY: LEE and I have been married for 26 years. We have three lovely daughters. 25yrs,    20yrs,15yrs. Yes I married my life time sweetheart.

TDMB:  That is a long time, Were U two High School Sweet Hearts?
SHIRLEY:  No Lee is about 20yrs older than I am. I met him on the softball field about 27yrs ago. While I was attending TSU.

TDMB: Where are U originally from?                                                                            SHIRLEY:  A little town called Cameron Texas.

TDMB: What High School?
SHIRLEY:  John H Reagan Sr. High

TDMB:  Did U play Sports in School?  
SHIRLEY:  Yes, Softball, Volleyball, Golf, Basketball, Track.

TDMB:  First let me say this, I think that U are one of the best female players in Houston. SHIRLEY:  Thank You.

TDMB:  How did U get started? and How long have U been Playing?                                 SHIRLEY:  Well how I got started, I started playing softball at the age of 8 yrs, One day I saw some kids playing a game in the streets I went over to see what they were doing, They were playing a game call straight base, This game was played with two bases a home plate and another base outfield in the area where second base is placed now. You had to hit the ball and run through the crowd to get to the base with out getting tagged out. I have been playing for about 37yrs. I am 46yrs old now.

TDMB:  Do U have any Hobbies outside of Softball and what are they?                     SHIRLEY:  Yes I love spending time with my family and grand baby. My grand baby is a girl 1 yr and 11 months. I love counseling with youth. One day I hope to have my own daycare/youth center.

TDMB:  Your husband Skillet comes out and Coaches U in your softball, do U and coach him In his running?                                                                                                     SHIRLEY:  No not really, but I am one of him greatest fans, I love to see him run.

TDMB:  Can u name all the teams U played for?                                                   SHIRLEY:  Big 32 Ladies, The Dolls, Messangers Bandits, War, The Lady Gladitors, The Lady Trojans, UT Ladies, True Statement, Showtime, Flava, Damn Near, The Dream Team,  Deletion, Fun Bunch, Lady Brokers, Oops, N-YO-FACE, Just to name a few.

  
TDMB:  Which one was the best?                                                                       SHIRLEY:  Showtime, Deletion, The Dream Team,


TDMB:  What is your best memory from Softball?                                                 SHIRLEY:  Playing on the team Showtime, I remember going to Beaumont and the city had on a bulletin board that read WELCOME TO BEAUMONT "SHOWTIME" Fun memories waiting for the week-end to be with the softball family. Traveling to Beaumont Texas  in the early 80"s was fun.

TDMB:  Your worst?                                                                                          SHIRLEY:  I don't have a worst team, I really enjoyed all the teams and players.

TDMB:  What is the name of your 40 and over team?                                            SHIRLEY:  N-YO-FACE

TDMB:  How many tournaments do the team plan on playing?                                SHIRLEY:  About four to five main tournaments for rings.

TDMB:  Who are the Ladies on the team?                                                             SHIRLEY:  Shirley, Patsy, Roza, Nell, Linda K, Linda Y, Jeri, Judy, Eulla, Debra, Weezy, Regina, Pat, Barbara. Marlene, Jeanette, Danette, Anna, Chubby,

TDMB: What about Kemistry?                                                                            SHIRLEY:  Do U think that U all can compete for some tournament championships? My thoughts are any body can be beaten at any given time. You must have that killer instinct to win. WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN. You must have heart to be a championship team. Team Kemistry has that INSTINCT!!!!

TDMB:  Do U have any shout outs?                                                                     SHIRLEY:  Yes , First giving the glory to GOD, AND THANKS FRANK FOR INTERVIEWING ME, I REMEMBER DOING AN INTERVIEW LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS ATTENDING COLLEGE.

TDMB:  Anything U would like to add?                                                                  SHIRLEY:  I AM GLAD TO HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF  MEETING A LOT OF PEOPLE ON AND OFF THE FIELDS. I LOVE THIS GAME.
